PowerSchool is our electronic student grade information and student records database. Students will have

an assigned Username and Password that was given to them during their initial registration at TMHS. If, for

any reason, you have lost your Username and/or Password for PowerSchool, please contact the school administrative assistant at (520) 555-0100 during normal school hours, Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30, and we

will be happy to assist you. We strongly recommend that you check student grades weekly.

If you are not planning on going to college, these articles will provde support and encouragement as you pursue post-secondary opportunities. They will also provide you with concrete ideas on what you can be

doing after high school besides college.

ASVAB: Career Exploration

Interested in a military career? If so, then definitely check out the above website. However, even if you are

not interested in joining the military, the ASVAB is a great career exploration tool. 

Transitioning from High School to College

If you are planning on going to college right after high school, please check out the link above from

SetToGo. There are many valuable features in this website that will help you to successfully transition from

high school to college.

Required Standardized Testing for College Admissions

If you plan on going to a four-year college or university immediately after high school, then you will need to

take either the ACT or SAT. Please inquire to the admissions offices at the schools where you plan on

applying, to see if they prefer the ACT or SAT, since some schools may have a preference. The map below shows these preferences.

Note that if you are planning to transfer from a two-year community college to a four-year college or

university, then these tests are not required.

PSAT

This test is typically taken in 10th grade. It is not required but can be good preparation.

SAT

The states highlighted in blue prefer the SAT. If you are planning on applying to four-year colleges and universities out-of-state, please check to see which test that state prefers. The SAT is typically taken in 11th grade. It may be repeated fall semester of 12th grade. Testing dates, registration, test preparation and scholarship giveaways are here.

ACT

The states highlighted in red prefer the ACT. If you are planning on applying to four-year colleges and universities out-of-state, please check to see which test that state prefers. The ACT is typically taken in

11th grade. It may be repeated fall semester of 12th grade. Testing dates, registration, test preparation and scholarship giveaways are here.

Class Registration

The TMHS Counseling Office will be calling students from classes at the end of Fall semester, typically

starting in early November, in order for students to sit down with a counselor to plan out and register for

Spring semester classes. Starting in early April, the TMHS Counseling Office will be calling students during

classes, in order to plan out and register for Fall semester classes. The TMHS Counseling Office will be contacting teachers during this time to determine the best class time during which to have students come in

for individual academic advising. 

AP Classes for College Credit

TMHS offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement (AP) classes for college credit. We strongly encourage students who have shown prior academic excellence to consider enrolling in AP classes. Please click on the above link for a complete list of all AP Courses. Please note that not all courses listed on the website will be offered during any given semester.

Dual Enrollment: Taking College Classes

TMHS offers high school students the opportunity to take classes at the local community college to earn

both college credit and high school credit. Interested students, please contact the TMHS Counseling Office

for more information.

We offer a number of small support groups throughout the school year. The topics for each of these groups
